> page 3: Technical Questions

What does membership to the GDN include?

As a member, you have access to all other members' profiles. You can also use the GDN mail system to correspond with other members. Membership to the Business Network gives you access to the professional details of other Business Network members including their photographs where available.

How do I contact another GDN member? / How do I send a message to another GDN member?

When you are viewing another member's profile that you would like to contact, click on either 'invite for dinner' or 'contact' at the bottom of the profile. These functions use the GDN mail system and it doesn't cost anything to send these messages. We strongly recommend that you talk on the phone before meeting.

Can I email profiles to a friend?

Yes! Just click on the 'Mail profile to a friend' link at the bottom of the profile. Remember though that your friend will only be able to view the full GDN site if she is registered.

Can I advertise my business as part of my profile?

Yes you can, provided you are registered on the GDN Business Network.

My town is not on the list of GDN cities. Can I still join?

Yes you can. The GDN cities which are listed are those which women travel to as well as live in. This list will continue to grow as more women join the GDN. When you register you will be asked to tell us what your home town is and we'll add it to the list if enough women from it sign up.

What if I don't want to meet up with someone who has contacted me?

It's OK to decline an invitation or contact, but please be polite!

I don't travel much. Should I still join the GDN?

Yes - absolutely! The GDN is a great way of meeting new people - whether you travel or not. There may be many GDN members visiting your city on business or holiday who would love to meet you and get your advice about your city. And there may be other GDN members in your area who are interested in meeting women who live nearby.

Are GDN meetings just dinners? Should I use the GDN only for dinners?

Not at all! GDN meetings are whatever you and the GDN member you're meeting want them to be. You could meet for a coffee, go for a run, go and see a film, go sightseeing, have lunch… All that GDN does is put you in touch with other women so that you need never feel alone or isolated - with GDN you can have a friend in every city!
